The answer? Well, I have been fascinated with cultures for a long time. I’m a Marine brat who has lived all over the United States, and my family has friends from all over the world. I love learning languages, and am currently working on becoming fluent in Hebrew while picking up German as well. Some of my favorite cultures are Indian and Israeli, but the one that holds my heart is the Scandinavian-based Alaskan culture.
Someday I hope to be able to travel all over the world! But until I can do that, I have to be content with reading about them, looking at pictures of them, and recreating as much of the food as possible. My favorite destinations are Vienna, Prague, Rome, Prince Edward Island, and Israel. We'll see if I make it there!
I really love seeing how God’s hand comes through in cultures. Romans 2 talks about the law of God being written on the hearts of all men, and it’s neat watching that play out in real time.
I’m interested in genealogy, not only because it’s fun to know about the individuals who have led up to me, but also to learn about the many backgrounds that have made my family what they are today.
On this page, then, I’m going to talk about the things I learn about different cultures, and how I integrate the rich diversity of this spinning ball we call home into my everyday life, whether that be in dress, home, food, and just my general way of life.
This page is literally my just-for-fun page, and I hope that you’ll enjoy it as much as I think I will!
